My heartfelt greetings to everyone on the eve of the 75th Republic Day! This is a really significant moment in the country’s history, just as we celebrated its distinct splendor and diversified culture at the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The topic of democracy is highlighted in the Preamble of our Constitution, which begins with “We, the People of India”. India’s democratic system predates the concept of western democracy, earning it the title of “mother of democracy”.
After a protracted fight, India achieved independence from foreign rule on August 15, 1947. The Constituent Assembly then held comprehensive debates for nearly three years before producing the inspirational Indian Constitution.

We are in the early stages of Amrit Kaal, the era preceding the centenary of independence. This is an epochal development, and every citizen’s involvement will be critical to achieving our objectives.
Amrit Kaal will also bring about tremendous technological changes, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. We must remove obstacles from the youth’s path and allow them to reach their full potential.
On this important occasion, I gladly honor the members of our Armed Forces, Police, and Paramilitary Forces, whose bravery and vigilance have allowed us to reach new heights.
Let us all dedicate ourselves to serving the nation and our fellow citizens in any way we can. Best wishes to everyone involved in this initiative.
President’s Speech, 2023
My heartfelt greetings to everyone on our 77th Independence Day! It is a source of happiness and satisfaction to witness how India has reclaimed its rightful place on the global stage and strengthened its position in the international system.
With the G-20 leadership, India may influence trade and finance policy decisions to promote equal progress. Beyond trade and money, human development issues are on the agenda.
What is striking about India’s G-20 chairmanship is how diplomatic engagement has been taken to the grassroots level. There was a first-of-its-kind push to persuade people to participate.
Extreme weather events have an impact on everyone, but the poor and disenfranchised are hit the worst. Cities and hilly terrains, in particular, require increased resilience.
The secret to tribal communities’ survival across the years can be stated in a single word: empathy. They have empathy for all of Mother Nature’s offspring, including flora and fauna.
Our country has entered the ‘Amrit Kaal’ with fresh resolutions, and we are working towards making India an inclusive and developed nation by 2047.
Our Constitution serves as our guiding document. Let us move on in the spirit of harmony and brotherhood to fulfill our nation-builders’ dreams.
On the eve of Independence Day, I once again express my greetings to our soldiers defending the borders, jawans of the military and police who provide internal security, and members of our diaspora residing all over the world.
